The Turner Story

Turner is a division of Time Warner along with our sister companies, HBO and Warner Bros. We are better known as the folks who bring you CNN, HLN, TCM, TNT, TBS, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Turner Sports and so much more!Wecreate premium content and deliver exceptional experiences to fans whenever and wherever they consume content. These efforts are fueled by data-driven insights and industry-leading technology. From cutting-edge breaking news stories, up-to-the-minute sports coverage, and the characters we grew up loving on to the shows we love today, Turner continues to be the gold standard in first class television programming and a demonstrated leader in digital content. We tell the stories the world wants to hear. Won’t you be a part of our story? http://www.turner.com/

What part will you play?

Adult Swim is a late night television network with a growing digital presence. We make TV shows of course, but we also build websites, mobile apps (Android, iOS) and television streaming apps (FireTV, Roku, Apple TV) to complement, promote and one day replace those traditional format shows. We're expanding our services more and more each year with a focus on original, streaming content and digital interaction with our audiences. We're looking for creative people with interesting and ambitious ideas, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, very unconventional environment.

What will you be doing?

Adult Swim is seeking an experienced Full Stack Web Developer, with an emphasis on the Front End side of the stack. Applicant should be proficient with complex applications built with modern frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular or Vue (etc.). You'd be working alongside a small team of developers. This team is part of a larger production group that runs AdultSwim.com focusing on our streaming content (http://www.adultswim.com/streams/) across platforms and the shows we produce live and in-house. Despite a (mostly) laid-back attitude, we operate in a fast-paced environment with deployments almost every day. We expect high-quality results in the areas of development and production. Creative minds are a big plus; and you're expected to contribute by pushing for modern web practices and technologies wherever possible. Attention to detail regarding your coding is a must.

What do we require from you?

  • 3+ years' experience with web development and a deep understanding of the modern web development ecosystem
  • Expert level knowledge of modern front-end Javascript (ES6)
  • Experience with CSS3/LESS or SASS for responsive interfaces
  • Strong knowledge of backend technologies (web APIs, micro services, caching systems, database designs)
  • 2+ years' experience with a SPA framework such as React, Angular or Vue
  • Experience with build tools such as Gulp or Webpack
  • Knowledge of NoSQL Databases (CouchDB or MongoDB) and optimum ways of interfacing with them through various APIs
  • Advanced Git knowledge and experience using it on team projects
  • Basic Linux command line knowledge

But wait, there’s more!

  • Paid time off every year to volunteer.
  • 2017 LinkedIn Top Company
  • 2017 Best Company for Working Mothers.
  • An in-houselearning and development teamto help shape and grow your career.
  • Part of the Time Warner family of powerhouse brands like HBO, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, TNT, and TBS.
