What part will you play?

Be part of a new team within Turner’s Broadcast Engineering team. The SR Systems Engineer will bridge their skills in development and system administration to work on new cloud projects.The SR Systems Engineer will work on POCs, repackage, and rearchitect on prem to operate efficiently in the cloud.

What will you be doing?

  • Automate compliance with cloud security standards
  • Automating self-service infrastructure that complies with cloud operations, governance and security standards
  • Implementing core software and services that maintain our compliance with cloud security standards to reduce the cost of failure
  • Implementing continuous delivery systems that validate security compliance without causing unnecessary friction
  • Partner with teams putting services into the cloud to achieve resilient, cost conscious business capability
  • Research of identified security vulnerabilities and coordinate with the appropriate application owners to remediate the vulnerability
  • Learn new technologies to perform assigned tasks
  • Perform other tasks and duties as necessary
  • Track and manage work in an agile framework, act as product owner and occasional scrum master

What do we require from you?

  • Bachelor's Degree/major in the area of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related
  • 3+ years developing applications in an application development team following SDLC
  • 1+ years leading a team
  • 3+ years experience with application design
  • 5+ years experience with multiple languages and paradigms: Java, Python, Scala, Ruby, Javascript, Node, Go (Python preferred)
  • 3+ years full stack experience (UI, Application Services, DB, Storage, Network, TCP/IP, UDP, etc.)
  • 5+ years experience with Linux based operating systems
  • 3+ years experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • 3+ years experience with Continuous Delivery tools and concepts, including Pipelines
  • 3+ years experience designing and building cloud native applications and systems
  • 2+ years experience Docker and container clustering technologies like Kubernetes, Mesos, AWS ECS
  • 2+ years experience with software defined infrastructure (cloud formation, terraform, etc.)
  • 2+ years experience with immutable infrastructure
  • Familiar with Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) , Open Web App Security Project (OWASP)
  • Familiarity with fundamentals of distributed systems (CAP, Eventual Consistency, Consensus)
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be diligent, proactive and have high standards for personal work product
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
