What part will you play?

  • Maintaining the two Strategic Platform Labs at CNN to allow for efficient usage by Strategic Platform internal and external clients

What will you be doing?

  • Maintaining the two Strategic Platform Labs at CNN to allow for efficient usage by Strategic Platform internal and external clients
  • Duties include setup and teardown of projects, demonstrations, and experiments
  • Assist with all Strategic Platform Labs & Advanced TV projects as directed
  • This position will be directly responsible for the two CNN based lab facilities
  • These responsibilities include; facilities management and control, continual maintenance of lab infrastructure to ensure optimum performance as well as regular resolution and tracking of equipment problems
  • Perform installations and upgrades of equipment and assist Strategic Platform clients with the configuration of these facilities to support their testing needs Maintenance, calibration, and repair of lab testing tools
  • Work with Advanced TV & Lab Senior Management to identify and evaluate new tools and test equipment to support the mentioned facilities
  • Providing weekly report to Lab/ATV Management on facilities, equipment, tools, and usage What do we require from you?

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Broadcast Engineer in Live or Lab environments Experience in configuring and troubleshooting broadcast equipment such as master control switchers, Harmonic Spectrum video servers, Sony production switchers, Chyron and VizRt graphics systems

  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting master control automation systems. Knowledge of SMPTE standards Experience with Cisco networks, Linux operating systems, and ethical hacking is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment issues in a logical, efficient and concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with executives and coworkers
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Broadcast Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
