What part will you play?

CNN's brand-new Brand Studio is looking for a full time, New York City-based Multimedia Storyteller to help build out a best-in-class custom content capability. The person who lands this job will have an immense opportunity to help pitch and produce great branded content that will be distributed on an unparalleled scale. The Studio works with a Who's Who of blue chip brands that all have meaningful media budgets. The goal is to produce relevant work that will be of real interest to the CNN audience; a network available to more than 2 billion people in more than 200 countries and territories, spanning TV, Web, Snapchat, Social Media, Airports and Mobile Devices.

What will you be doing?

A Multimedia Storyteller is our fancy way of describing someone with really strong journalistic instincts who can initiate ideas for features and then, if need be, handle the production from start to finish. You are more than just a writer and researcher. You are no stranger to director and/or producing video content. You use video, audio, stills, typography, data, animation, motion graphics (and whatever else is available) to enhance your stories and deepen audience understanding - even if that means gathering those assets all by yourself so you can beautifully make the case. You are constantly generating ideas and get a kick out of developing and pitching creative concepts. You naturally find relevancy in the seemingly mundane and seem to spot narrative hooks wherever you look. You can prove you understand what content trends well on the web, and know how to use well-crafted stories and great design to build an audience.

What do we require from you?

  • 3+ years experience in an editorial role at a traditional or digital journalism organization
  • Experience in a video-led operation a real plus
  • Proven experience creating and delivering multimedia stories a must with a focus in video
  • Experience working with advertisers, or in a collaborative sales environment, preferred
  • Detail oriented with ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • First rate communication skills
