Part of the Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team, this role has responsibility for budgeting and forecasting process for APAC and the budgeting, forecasting and business partnering for the kids and entertainment , central, and corporate costs across Turner APAC. The position holder will be expected to partner with APAC Regional and Operating Management and the wider FBP team, reporting to the CFO, Asia. The role involves management of Finance team in Hong Kong.

Duties:

LRP / MONTHLY REFORECASTING

•Production of the annual budget, LRP, and monthly reforecast for kids and entertainment, central, and corporate costs

•Ensure that any risks and opportunities to the latest budget / forecast are correctly understood, quantified, and reflected in the forecast as appropriate

•Management of the production of the annual LRP, budget, and monthly reforecasts for headcount and related expenditure

•Management of the production of the consolidated budget / forecast reports and reporting packs

•Partner with Regional and Operating Management to ensure that all relevant information is captured and reflected in budgets and forecasts, challenging and verifying any underlying assumptions to ensure the integrity of the numbers

•Ensure accuracy of data and that all timelines, processes and controls are adhered to, in line with company policy

•Ensure that the correct expense recognition rules are applied appropriately

ANALYSIS

•Variance analysis for kids and entertainment, central, and corporate costs (eg actual versus budget comparison)

•Provide analysis, modelling and forecasts for new cost or business initiatives and track and report on the performance of the initiatives that are implemented

•Provide ad hoc analysis, forecasting and modelling as required

TEAM WORKING / MANAGEMENT

•Partner with the Finance Shared Service Centre to gain a full understanding of management and statutory reporting of all salaries, kids and entertainment, central, and corporate costs. Collaborate on the resolution of any accounting or transactional issues, liaising with the business as required.

•Work closely with the TI Strategic finance team (US/London) to ensure all corporate planning, forecasting and reporting requirements are met in a timely and insightful manner.

•Partner with the Strategic finance team, TI FBS and ABS teams to share best practice and drive process, system, reporting and analytics improvements

•Guide the Local APAC FDs/FBP to gain a full understanding of the business, local management accounts and operations, to coordinate and streamline the reporting and budgeting cycle.

•Management of the central APAC FBP team

•Partner with and guide the Local APAC FDs/FBP to gain a full understanding of the business, local management accounts and operations, to coordinate and streamline the reporting and budgeting cycle.

•Partner with Regional and Operating Management to ensure that all relevant information is captured and reflected in budgets and forecasts, challenging and verifying any underlying assumptions to ensure the integrity of the numbers

•Partner with DV&I FD and leadership team to ensure alignment of centralized budget and initiatives. Ensure recharge/IC models are adhered

•Review and evaluate central/shared cost allocation model on a regular basis to ensure completeness and transparency of local and functional P&Ls

SYSTEMS

•Train/educate business contacts to use and understand financial reporting tools as appropriate

•Work with the SVP of Finance/CFO and the wider team to improve processes and systems on an on-going basis.

Qualifications:

  • English – fluent verbal and written
  • Fully qualified Accountant is desirable
  • Experience to include significant forecasting, budgeting, modelling and analysis.
  • Experience of working with a high volume of data
  • Variance analysis
  • Knowledge of SEC rules and US GAAP.
  • Knowledge of local taxation as related to M&A
  • Use best practice tools such as Smartview
  • Highly computer literate including advanced Excel, Peoplesoft, Hyperion (or similar) and modelling tools
  • Experience and market knowledge of specified territories
  • Experience of managing people
  • Actuals experience and understanding
  • Media experience a plus
  • Able to communicate with and explain financial concepts to non-finance personnel
  • Ability to question and research detail in order to achieve a full understanding and accurate reflection of the financials.
